Everyone’s idea of success is different

For some, it’s about how much money you make, for others it’s about having a prominent job title, and there are those who define success by the quality of the lives they care for. Whatever your definition of success, if you look to the women you want to emulate, they all have certain characteristics and habits in common. Here are the top 5 habits of successful women.

Successful Women Get up Early

They are up with the sun and ready to tackle the world before office hours begin. You will usually find that before they start their day, they have eaten a healthy breakfast, worked out, and spent some time reviewing their plan for the day. Most of them stick to the same morning routine regardless of whether it’s a weekday or a weekend. It is true, the way you spend your morning sets the tone for the whole day.

Successful Women Follow a Plan

You will find that whether your #bossbabe icon is a hot-shot executive or a stay at home mom, she is always following a plan.Successful women have short and long term goals. The thing about setting goals, though, is that it takes more than just an intention to accomplish them. Successful women accomplish the things they set their minds to because they have the drive and the grit to make their goals a reality.

Successful Women Write Things Down

Successful women don’t wing it. They keep lists of the daily actions they need to take to get to where they need to be. Whether using a notepad or a phone note or an organization app like Evernote, they keep a “to-do” list and check things off as they are finished.

Successful Women Recharge their Batteries

Successful women don’t burn themselves out with work. They aren’t afraid to tell someone “no” if they need to decompress with a little alone time. Successful women will go as far as to plan their self-care time if they feel they need to.
That can mean a number of things. For me, I plan my running and yoga time because that is what I do to recharge. For others it may be relaxing with a good book and a bath, and for others it could be going for a long drive. Whatever it is that helps you reset, be sure to set aside time to make it happen!

Successful Women NEVER Stop Learning

You won’t catch a successful woman who isn’t currently reading something or who doesn’t have a list of books they are planning to read. This is because they are always learning and growing. Reading is exercise for the brain. Whether you’re reading a fiction or non-fiction book, reading alone will enhance memory recall and keep your brain hungry for more knowledge. You don’t get that from watching TV!
