Welcome to my little corner of the Internet!
Hi I’m Angela! I don’t know how you found me but feel free to bounce around my site. It’s full of posts and pages that will hopefully inspire you, empower you, make you laugh and maybe even show you how to do something new.
A little about me – I’m a Pinterest addict with a potty-mouth and a sometimes inappropriate sense of humor – consider yourself warned! I love to run and practice yoga and then dive into a pint of Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough ice cream. I’m a pretty typical thirty-something in the sense that I, like so many others, am simply on the hunt for anything that moves me – whether it’s movies, books, running up mountains or laughing my ass off. If you can relate in any way, this might be a good place for you!
Why me? Why now?
I’ve started this blog for a number of reasons that we can get into as time goes on. In a nutshell, after suffering a health crisis recently, I have found myself in a place where I am essentially starting over in certain aspects of my life.
The downside of my health problems has been a degree of depression relating to the fact that I don’t have the physical stamina for day to day activities that I had even 3 months ago. I’m also a foodie at heart and I have had to completely overhaul my diet and cut out many of the things I enjoy eating which has been a bigger challenge.
The upside, however – is that I get to start over in many ways: learning to run again, trying new foods, buying new clothes, and not drinking wine anymore. This site is my canvas for processing and documenting the ways that my lifestyle is changing. Everything that is new was given to me in some way, shape, or form by someone else so I figure that I might as well share it all in hopes that maybe you can take away some benefit from my little life journey.
A Few More Things to Know
I’ve been happily attached for almost 3 years to a guy who grills a great steak, puts the toilet seat down, and makes me laugh every day.
I’m the proud mama to a sweet 9 year-old boy and step-mama to a sassy 11 year-old girl, both of whom keep me up to date on Minecraft, Snapchat, and iPhone & Windows 10 functionality.
In my professional life, I design and broker IT services for businesses. I quit working at a traditional desk job in 2015 and am still wrapping my head around the responsibilities and pressures that being your own boss brings to the table.
I’m an avid Netflix binger but I’m working on replacing that particular habit with reading books – this is a work in progress.
I behave myself like a lady in social and professional situations but anyone who knows me on a personal level understands that I say “fuck” a lot… It’s just part of who I am.
